About Us
The John 14:6 Testimony ministry is the inspired work of the Holy Spirit, as the Spirit grandiosely used Prudencio D. and Cresencia D. (husband and wife) in the beginning of its formation in 1951. Both born in the Philippines, Prudencio and Cresencia are now in heaven, living in eternity with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. John 14:6 was the Bible verse that converted Prudencio to Protestantism from a Roman Catholic Church background. Although Prudencio was a devout Catholic he agreed to marry Cresencia in a Protestant church only because of his deep love for her, overlooking her Protestant faith.
Cresencia, after months of bended-knee praying during their first year of marriage, saw a miracle happen. Prudencio finally picked up his wife's Bible lying on the dining table, the place where Cresencia kept it every day. As Prudencio was flipping through the pages, he landed on the book of John. He continued flipping through until the verse in John 14:6 stopped him. It says, "Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth and the LIfe. No one goes to the Father except through Me." He read it, and then read the same verse, over and over again. When Prudencio went to bed that night he dreamed of a ball of fire floating above his head. Fire in the Bible is one of the signs of the Holy Spirit's presence. The following day, which was a Sunday, he went to a Protestant church with his wife for the second time in their marriage. After continuous reading and studying the Bible, Prudencio's eyes were finallly opened, and he saw the Truth for the first time in his life. He learned that Jesus and no other intercessor was the only way to heaven, which was quite different from the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church (Mary and "saints" intercessions). Interestingly during Prudencio's time Catholics were not allowed to read the Bible. This was how Prudencio's dramatic conversion got started and he kept the faith until his death at the age of ninety-eight. During their lifetime, both of them won numerous souls to Christ (mostly Catholics) using John 14:6 as the anchor verse. Additionally, two verses they also used in confirming John 14:6 were 1 Timothy 2:5-6, which say, "For there is one God, and there is one intercessor between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time." (emphases added)
Long story short, because of this amazing spiritual experience, one of their four sons was inspired by the Holy Spirit to continue the John 14:6 testimony, now a ministry in honor of his parents, which is their legacy. This US-based ministry is supported by other pastors operating in Panabo City, Davao, Philippines where Prudencio and Cresencia first me, fell in love and got married.
